Above ground pools and SPAs

REDUCE THE RISK OF DROWNING AND INJURY:

  1. Learn how to swim.
  2. Provide constant supervision. A competent adult should be appointed as a “lifeguard” or water watcher, especially when children are in and around the pool.
  3. Instruct anyone who is supervising pool users about potential pool hazards and about the use of protective devices like locked doors, barriers, etc.
  4. Always use common sense and good judgement when enjoying any water activity.
  5. Supervise, supervise, supervise.
  6. Safe swimming depends on constant attention to the rules. A “NO DIVING” sign should be posted near your pool to help keep everyone alert to the danger. You may also wish to laminate the sign to protect it from the elements

CHILDPROOF FENCING:

Pool and spa safety rules vary by state. Please check your state or local council requirements before purchase.

SPAS SAFETY MEASURES. REDUCE THE RISK OF DROWNING AND INJURY

  • NO DIVING
  • NO JUMPING
  • STAY AWAY FROM DRAINS AND SUCTION FITTINGS

Children must never use a spa without close and active adult supervision. Take extra care if there are young children living in or visiting nearby properties. Ensure children cannot access the spa unless a responsible adult is present.

Always place the cover on the spa and secure any locks or safety devices when the spa is not in use. Keep keys and locking devices out of the reach of children.

Inspect the spa cover regularly and do not use the spa if the cover is worn, damaged or does not fit correctly.

Do not use the spa alone or allow others to use the spa unattended.

Never jump or dive into the spa or any other shallow body of water.

Measure the water temperature with an accurate thermometer before entering. The water in a spa must never exceed 40°C. Water temperatures between 38°C and 40°C are generally considered suitable for healthy adults for short periods. Lower temperatures are recommended for children and for soaks longer than 10 minutes.

Consult a doctor before using the spa if you:

  • are pregnant or may be pregnant
  • are obese
  • are using medication
  • have a history of heart disease
  • have high or low blood pressure
  • have circulatory problems
  • have diabetes

People with infectious diseases must not use the spa.

Maintain clean, properly treated water to reduce the risk of water‑borne illness. Follow the water‑treatment instructions in the Owner’s Manual. Always observe good personal hygiene when using any pool or spa.

Do not use the spa while under the influence of alcohol, drugs or certain medications, as this increases the risk of drowning and injury.

Do not add bath oils, soaps or bath salts to the spa water unless the product is expressly approved for spa use.

Excessive heat can cause unconsciousness or hyperthermia. Leave the spa immediately if you feel dizzy, sleepy, faint or unwell.

Enter and exit the spa slowly and carefully to avoid slips and falls.

If the spa, pump or any component appears damaged or is not working correctly, stop using the spa immediately and contact a suitably qualified service technician.

Never operate the spa if the suction fittings or outlets are loose, broken, cracked, damaged or missing. Replace them before further use.

Keep pets away from the spa and its equipment.

REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

  • This spa must be connected only to a power outlet protected by a residual current device (RCD/GFCI). Test the RCD/GFCI before each use. Do not use the spa if the device does not operate correctly.
  • Do not bury, pinch or damage the power cord. Connect only to a properly grounded power outlet with the correct voltage and current rating, as specified in the Owner’s Manual. Do not use extension leads, power boards, adaptors, timers or converter plugs.
  • Always unplug the spa before cleaning, servicing or making any adjustments.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a licensed electrician or other suitably qualified person. Do not attempt to repair electrical parts yourself.
  • Position the spa so the plug can reach the outlet without strain on the cord.
  • Never handle plugs or electrical equipment while standing in water or with wet hands.

Do not leave the spa empty for extended periods or expose the empty shell to prolonged, direct sunlight.

Do not use the spa during heavy rain, electrical storms, thunder or lightning.

Ensure there is adequate drainage around the spa in case of accidental overflow or discharge.

Important: Additional warnings and detailed instructions are provided on the product and in the Owner’s Manual supplied with the spa. Read and follow all safety information and instructions to help prevent drowning, injury, electric shock and property damage.
